An apprenticeship is a real job with on-site and college-based training to give you the necessary trade skills to succeed.
If you are aged 16 or over, you can complete a fully funded apprenticeship which means the qualification is free for you to undertake. Your employer will need to pay your wage so you can gain a qualification and earn money at the same time.
For the first year of your apprenticeship, regardless of your age, your employer will pay you at least the apprentice minimum wage which is currently £8 per hour. Once you have completed your first year, the wage will depend on your age. After your first year if you aged 19 or over then your employer will pay you in line with the rate of pay for your age or above. If you are under 19 your employer will pay you £8 per hour or above until you turn 19. CLICK HERE for more information about National Minimum Wage Rates for apprentices.
Below is a quote from a learner who completed a course with Coleg QS Training:
“Thanks for your help and support. I would not hesitate to recommend your courses to any of my work colleagues. All the best for the future.”
