There are a few things you will need to do or have as an employer to take on a trainee or an apprentice:
- Have experienced staff to work with and supervise the trainee or apprentice
- Have the relevant liability insurances
- Release the trainee or apprentice to attend college on their college days
- Where you have an apprentice, you must pay them the correct wage or above (please follow the link for further guidance: https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates)
