Level 1
This qualification will suit candidates who want an introduction into Carpentry.
In this level you will be –
- Conforming to General Safety in the Workplace
- Installing Door Ironmongery in the Workplace
- Installing Frames and Linings in the Workplace
- Installing Internal Mouldings in the Workplace
- Installing Side Hung Doors in the Workplace
- Moving and Handling Resources in the Workplace
Level 2
This qualification is for candidates who work or want to develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in site carpentry.
In this level you will be –
- Conforming to Efficient Working Practices in the Workplace
- Conforming to General Safety in the Workplace
- Erecting Structural Carcassing Components in the Workplace
- Installing First Fixing Components in the Workplace
- Installing Second Fixing Components in the Workplace
- Maintaining Non-structural Carpentry Work in the Workplace
- Moving and Handling Resources in the Workplace
- Setting Up and Using Circular Saws in the Workplace
Level 3
The level 3 diploma allows you to develop and practise the skills required for further employment and for career progression.
In this level you will be –
- Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace
- Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace
- Conforming to General Safety in the Workplace
- Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
- Erecting Complex Structural Carcassing Components
- Erecting Structural Carcassing Components in the Workplace
- Installing First Fixing Components in the Workplace
- Installing Second Fixing Components in the Workplace
- Maintaining Non-structural and Structural Components
- Setting Up and Using Fixed or Transportable Metalworking Machinery in the Workplace
- Setting Up and Using Fixed or Transportable Woodworking Machinery in the Workplace
To complete level 1 level, 2 or level 3 you must achieve a number of credits from mandatory units and credits from optional units. This will increase as the levels increase.
Assessments are completed in a number of ways including,
- Site observations
- Witness testimony
- Photographic evidence
- Online exams
- Oral questions
- Written question and answer
