Level 1

This qualification will suit candidates who want an introduction into plastering.

In this level you will be –

  • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
  • Positioning and Securing Plasterwork Resources in the Workplace
  • Preparing and Mixing Plastering Materials in the Workplace
  • Preparing Background Surfaces for Plasterwork in the Workplace
  • Producing Plasterwork Components from Open Flood Moulds in the Workplace

 

Level 2

This qualification is ideal for individuals who work as solid or fibrous plasterers in the construction industry.  It provides an opportunity to develop skills and demonstrate their competence in this.

In this level you will be –

  • Applying Finishing Plaster to Background Surfaces in the Workplace
  • Applying Projection Plaster and Maintaining Equipment in the Workplace
  • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace
  • Installing Direct Bond Dry Linings in the Workplace
  • Installing Mechanically Fixed Plasterboard in the Workplace
  • Laying Sand and Cement Screeds to Levels and/or Falls in the Workplace
  • Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
  • Producing Cement Castings in the Workplace
  • Producing External Solid Render Finishes in the Workplace
  • Producing Internal Solid Plastering Finishes in the Workplace

 

Level 3

This qualification is ideal for individuals who work as solid or fibrous plasterers in the construction industry.  It provides an opportunity to demonstrate competence in this area at an advanced level.

In this level you will be –

  • Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace
  • Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace
  • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
  • Installing Direct Bond Dry Linings in the Workplace
  • Installing Mechanically Fixed Plasterboard in the Workplace
  • Producing Complex External Rendering Finishes in the Workplace
  • Producing Complex Internal Solid Plastering Finishes in the Workplace
  • Producing Granolithic Paving Work in the Workplace
  • Producing Specialised Plasterer’s Surfaces in the Workplace
  • Running In-situ Mouldings in the Workplace

To complete level 1, level 2 or level 3 you must achieve a number of credits from mandatory units and credits from optional units.  This will increase as the levels increase.

  • Witness testimony
  • Photographic evidence
  • Online exams
  • Oral questions
  • Written question and answer
  • Professional discussion
